[The map, received with a decayed linen and paper backing, and on a roller, was originally composed of 20 parchment skins joined to form a map 5 skins wide and 4 skins high. On receipt, the map was partly damp damaged, skins had largely become detached from each other, and the fourth (bottom) row skins 1, 3 and 5 were missing]. Covers c. 7,000 acres, including the parishes of Aisholt , Broomfield (N. area around Broomfield Hall, Gillard's Farm, etc; map defective for SE area), Over Stowey (excluding area in N of Parish), and Spaxton (map defective for S area). Fields named; acreages stated ; adjoining and interspersed landowners named; some parcels numbered; names of adjoining manors stated; detached lands shown as insets; some areas outlined in green, yellow, blue or red. Map gridded in red ink; includes marginal grid letters [book of reference missing]. Decorative monowash frame; empty decorative cartouche with lord's coronet lightly sketched above it.
