Description
In 1978 the Somerset Assistant Masters Association (AMA) and the local branch of the Association of Assistant Mistresses combined to create the Assistant Masters and Mistresses Association (AMMA). Topics discussed include staff pay and conditions and County Council education policy in Somerset's secondary schools. AMMA was renamed the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) in 1993.
The earliest minute books are the minutes of the Somerset Joint Four Sub-committee, a joint committee of representatives from the Headmistresses, Assistant headmasters and Assistant Mistresses Associations.
