Description
These papers comprise draft business papers and miscellaneous personal papers relating to the Bennett family of High Street, Bruton, later of Tolbury House, Bruton. Thomas Oatley Bruton was variously described in nineteenth century trade directories as a land surveyor, insurance agent, land agent, bank manager to Stuckey's Bank and auctioneer. His son, also Thomas, had entered the business by 1872, and the company continued into the twentieth century as Bennett and Company, land agents and surveyors.
